Since falling in love with the hospitality industry in 1995 Shelley has spent her time fostering relationships, building her experience and growing her businesses.  Since the inception of Windsor Hospitality, the organization has repeatedly renewed its strategic profile, both in accommodation and food, in order to keep pace with ever-changing tourism expectations. The success of these renewal efforts have resulted in 10 cycles of year over year revenue growth, something almost unheard of in today’s economy.

The commitment to continually revitalizing the business of ‘The Parlour” resulted in being ranked in the top 5% of the over 4,000 independently owner-operated Best Western’s in North America when assessing customer satisfaction every year of ownership. In addition, the hotel was recognized at the 2010 International Best Western Annual Convention, where the hotel was honoured with 3 awards, one for Design, one for Customer Care and a Champion Award that recognizes overall business excellence. The Prestigious Design Award was for the Overall Design Award for North America.

Shelley has held various positions in the hospitality sector, including a Bed and Breakfast Owner, Sales Director and the Director of Human Resources Services for Toronto and Stratford hotels with Chip Hospitality. She served as controller and trustee for the London Airport Inn & Suites. Having worked operationally in every department of the hotel gives her a unique insight into line level challenges and opportunities.  Currently she is the financial controller for Windsor Hospitality.

A firm believer that businesses are only as strong as the communities in which they operate, Shelley has contributed significant volunteer time to the Stratford community. This has included being a Member of the Board of the Stratford Tourism Association, The Stratford Hockey Club, Past-Chair of the Stratford Chamber of Commerce as well as  Marketing Chairperson of the Ontario/Quebec Best Western Co-op. She has been a mentor for Women in Business through the Stratford Perth Community Futures.  She is a mentor for LeadHer Alliance mentoring young women interested in the Hospitality industry.  She currently serves in an advisory capacity for Destination Stratford.
